12:32PM - more pictures

That picture actually posted so here is another one.

12:16PM - Sorry I stink....

....at updating this page!! I think I gave myself too many things to update. So we have moved our blog over to www.theliesefamily.blogspot.com hope you will come say hi to us over there.

Colin Patrick was born July 14, 2008! His stats are as follows:
8lbs 3oz
20 1/4 in long

At his 1 month check he weighed
10 lbs 10.5 oz
He is a VERY healthy eater. Time has flown by and he is the love of our lives.

The summer in our house was VERY busy we had out of town guests for most of July and the 1st week in August. Things have settled down a lot and we have gotten into an awesome groove. Colin has been sleeping through the night for almost 3 weeks now which is sheer bliss b/c C has been traveling a lot for work and that started when he was 2 weeks old. I was a hot mess that first business trip. Thank god for good friends/neighbors. So that is what we have been up to this summer. Here are some pictures of our little guy. I have more on our family page.

Not sure if that link will work if not come over to blogspot.

7:09PM - TGIF!!

Hello again my friends!

Sorry I have been MIA recently. We have been very busy preparing for baby and working etc....Since my last entry we found out that Baby L is a BOY! We are very excited and eagerly anticipating his arrival. We ordered his crib and changing table, registered, figured out his name, tried out paint samples, decided on bedding and room decor and tried to relax a little here and there ;-) So as you can see we have been a bit busy. He has been very active the past few weeks so that has been exciting. He likes to kick at 3am, so much for sleep in the months leading up to his arrival....

So here are some preliminary pics to tide you over until I have his little room done.

This is his furniture-We got the crib and the changing table/hutch combo in distressed black finish.

As for his bedding, I copied a custom website and was able to track down the exact fabric on some discount websites. I also was able to find someone to do the sewing very economically so I am very excited about that. This pic is what inspired the bedding. We will not do a monogram pannel.

Finally here is a 20week ultrasound pic:

7:14AM - Happy Monday....

Good morning! Before we get too far into the work week I wanted to share our fun weekend. We went to Florida this weekend to see C's brother for his 18th birthday. So we hung out with the family all day Friday and went to dinner with them at the Hardrock Cafe then gambling since it was an activity that Cody could now do as an 18 yr old. He even won money! So that was cool and C got to hang out with his brother which was a big deal since they don't see each other as much as we'd like. We flew back to Atlanta on Saturday and got home in time to have some dinner and catch up on tivoed programs that we didn't get to see. Then on Sunday we just slept in adjusted to the time change. C slept through it but I was up exceptionally early b/c I am not a late sleeper to begin with. I did get the kitchen straightened up and my meals for the week planned which was cool. Back to the real world now. This week is going to be a busy week but should be good. Happy Monday!

8:17AM - MIA...but now I am back

So I have been MIA for a while-sorry. I started a blogspot page and have been updating there. The page is www.thelieses.blogspot.com. We have been pretty busy in the past few months. In september we went on vacation, had the house painted and my parents and sister came for my birthday. October 22nd was our 2nd wedding anniversary. I can't believe how fast the past two years have gone. We made a great anniversary dinner monday night, had champagne and hung out. Work has been busy for us we are in the height of our busy seasons. I can't wait for the holidays when things relax b/c all of the business owners are away, so it's super slow. We are going to FL for Thanksgiving to be with c's family. Then we are going to NJ for almost a full week for Christmas :-) That will be a blast b/c we will have time to go out to St. James and see our friends Matt and Jaime and their new house :-) So we have a ton of exciting things to look forward to in the coming weeks/months. I will make sure that I am updating more regularly....not sure if anyone is still out there...but hopefully someone is.

11:21AM - Meet my new honda pilot!!

Chris and I went looking at cars yesterday, and came home with one....Go figure...My '01 honda CR-V had about 100k miles on it and was losing equity, so we traded it in for a new honda pilot. The great thing is that my car allowance is going to cover the payment. I still feel a little sentimental about my CR-V but I know if we waited until it was on its last legs we would not have been able to get the callibur of car I was able to get with just a trade in. So withour further adew, here is my new pretty pilot:-)

9:30AM - Good Morning!

Happy February! Things have been a bit busy here in the L household. Work has been busy for both of us. I LOVE my new job though and I am so glad that I made the change. C is getting a bit restless though and needs a change too, it's just a matter of finding the right thing to move on to. It will take some time but I am sure he'll find the right thing for him. In other news the house is coming a long nicely, we are starting to paint various rooms. We will not do the main part of the house until all of the sheetrock fixes are done in May. We purchased dining room furniture around New Year's so we pretty much have the whole place furnished, which is exciting. Here's a few pics:

Leigh will be in NC, SC and hopefully GA for the filming of the movie she is working on. I am excited that she will be within driving distance and she is going to come spend her days off here, so that will be awesome :-) Hopefully we'll get Stephen down to hang out when he gets home for the summer from school. C's parents are coming for easter with my brother in law. They came to our apartment last year so hopefully we can start forming some holiday traditions. Ok well that is all I have in terms of what has been going on here lately. C and I are going out to a nice dinner tonight on my boss as a reward for having a great business plan review so maybe I'll post that an my new haircut tomorrow. Happy Saturday :-)

12:37PM - A Cozy Saturday at Home

I am SOOO glad to be home for the weekend. I have been at the training center for week one of New hire training. I am SOO glad I live in Atlanta b/c it would be really hard to be stranded there over a weekend. Last night was my company Christmas party which was pretty fun. It was nice for Chris to get to meet the people that I work with. We were both very tired so we got going at a reasonable time. All in all it was a very nice time and really nice for me to see my new co-workers in a social setting.

It has been soooo cold here I am glad we got all of our Christmas decor done last weekend when it was warm. I am so excited for Christmas it's my favorite time of the year and Chris and I have been having a lot of fun getting the house decorated for our first year as homeowners. So...as promised here are some pictures that Chris took:-)

8:52AM - It's begining to look a lot like Christmas in the Liese House

Well I am going to be better about posting in here I promise. Things have just been very busy between starting my new job and getting the house together. However, my most favorite season is upon us and that my friends is CHRISTMAS!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about it. The decorating the music, the good mood everyone is in, giving, shopping, etc...We went out and got our tree and some house decor yesterday. I will post pictures later when the tree is decorated. We have such a huge tree....lucky for us we have high ceilings. We need to take a christmas card picture but I think I am going to leave that until next week when we are all dressed up for my Company's Christmas party. That is going to be a lot of fun, based on stories I have heard of past parties and the fact that everyone is hysterical. Our Friday morning meetings are ususally a lot of fun with a lot of laughing. It's a party that I know Chris will enjoy even though he doesn't know anyone. Anyway....I have to go to Aberdeen woods for training for the next 2 week which will be pure hell on earth given the conference calls I have endured. Luckily I'll be out early for the Christmas party and home for the weekend. I'll just go back on Sunday night for the last week. Well I was up stupidly early for some strange reason so now it's time to make the coffee and go to the store to get dinners for Chris to have while I am gone. I'll be updating while away I am sure and I'll post some Christmas decor pics later.

4:42PM - Settled

Well you those of you who have been reading this, have seen the pics of the new house. Well we are all moved in and settled. WE LOVE THE HOUSE!!! We are really enjoying the ammenities that go along with the house, like the pool:-) We have been grilling out on our patio a lot and we have a ton of space which is awesome! We have a few more things to organize but for the most part life has calmed down and we are settled and feel like we will finally be in one place for an extended period of time. We can finally make the place we live a warm, cozy home. I can't wait to be able to have our families and northen friends here for holidays and visits! The past year and a half has involved a lot of running around and a lot of packing, moving planning, so we are ready to just start RELAXING! We love the neighborhood the neighbors on our cul-de-sac are very cool and hopefully we will have some nice cul-de-sac cook outs this summer. Lifestyle wise moving to Atlanta was the best thing we ever decided to do. I do miss not being close to our families, but we are looking forward to the holidays.

Ok now Iam off to help chris finish clearing boxes and other things out of his side of the garage....we need to be able to pull our cars in.

COME VISIT!!

2:26PM - We hit the 5 month mark.....

I guess 6 months holds a little more noteriety but it is really cool that we have been married exactly 5 months today. Chris and I are doing great here in GA we really are enjoying living here and we have made some great friends. We are going to the bahamas in June for Lauren and matt's wedding. They are also acting as our real estate agents which has been really cool. We have begun the house hunt and we are hoping to find something by this summer b/c our lease is up sept 30th so we hope to be home owners and not renters.

In other news my Cousin Matt and his wife(former bridesmaid)Lee-ann are expecting their first baby which is really cool! I am so happy for them Matthew has always been like my big brother so it's fun that we have a very close adult relationship. I just wish we got to see them more. The coolest thing is that the baby is due 2 days before my birthday!

Well that is all the news I have for right now just thought I'd use our 5 month mark to say hi and that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth.

Until next time....

8:35AM - Hello

Good Morning All!
For some reason I fell asleep early last night b/c C was playing videogames and I was bored. Then I got up super early after waking up and getting a second wind for a bit. OH WELL...I am very excited b/c we booked our flight to the bahamas for Lauren and Matt's wedding in JUNE!! SO MUCH FUN most of the girls from work are going and it is going to be a blast. I am so glad that we have made some friends here. Chris and I and Lauren and Matt went out to a nice dinner on Thursday night and they came for a drink here first. We had a great time and will be going out with them again when we have our next weekend free and are not traveling.

In other news we are going to look at a few houses today to start our 'casual' search we can't move until september 30th b/c that is when our lease runs out, but at that point we will need to decide whether or not we will stay here another year to save money or buy a house while the interest rates are still low here. Only time will tell but I am brining my camera today. I am VERY excited b/c these houses are not finished yet which means if we are interested in buying one of them then we will get to customize it to some degree! so we shall see what happens on that front.

Finally, I had my first week of spin classes/kickboxing at LA fitness and my trainer here in the gym at our apartment complex. I am so glad I got my butt in gear and feel so much better. Bahamas here I come. With all that we have had going on in the past year, things are settling down to the point where we can actually have a real routine. So I have managed to work the gym into the mix and I am taking sundays off:-)
Lisa also joined with me so I am excited about that. I will have a weekend gym buddy. She took the kids club membership so that she could bring Kathryn or Justin if she has to when they are home from school/ on weekends when Mike is traveling.
Well that is all I have for now I'll post about our trip out with the real estate agent later if there is anything worth reporting.

12:09PM - Motivated...

Today for the first time in a long time things have settled down to the point where I can do something for myself. Yesterday I joined LA Fitness and today I went to spin for an hour...now any of you who knew my workout nazi ways in college...let's just say I kind of fell out of that for a while but it's coming back to me. So tomorrow I am going to do mat pilates before work and I am also going to heavily recruit my cousin Lisa as my buddy so we can do classes on the weekends together and maybe a weekday evening or two. I am also going to work with the personal trainer at our complex to get a good lifting routine down...We'll see how that goes. I am finally motivated to get off my butt!

10:32PM - A visit from NJ

Long time no update....I am very bad at regularly updating this journal but time just seems to get away from me. Well Mom and Dad came for their 1st of what Chris and I hope are many visits to Atlanta. Unfortunately the weather was crappy but we did fun stuff with them none the less....Saturday we went to the furniture store where I was able to work an incredible deal on our bedroom furniture and we FINALLY after salivating and researching for 2.5 years, BOUGHT THE FURNITURE!! We are so excited! It was a special order so it will be here in 6-8 weeks, but when it does I will post some pictures! Lots of exclamation points in this entry. Saturday night we went to this restaurant called Barcelona, we had an awesome time and celebrated my cousin Lisa's birthday. She and her friend who flew in from CA as a birthday surprise joined us for a nice dinner and we had a really fun time. Then yesterday we took a senic tour around the area as well as some other areas we are looking at possibly buying houses in. That will not happen immediately but in the somewhat near future. Then we went for dinner at J. Alexander's which is my new favorite place to eat...it's sort of like houston's, so that was fun. Then we bought desert and headed to Lisa and Mike's house for desert and so that my mom and dad could see the kiddos. That was fun and they were adorable as always. Then today was mellow we slept in a bit and then got up and got ready to go do something which turned into relaxing and mom and I taking a trip to Michael's which resulted in some new home made craft decor for our mantle....It looks really good mounted. Here is a picture....not the best but I'll take a better one in the daylight. The decor in the apartment is coming along....a few more frames to be hung up and more crafty ideas to be put into motion....I love michael's and am now very inspired.
This is a bit crooked but you get the idea. I'll get an arial from the loft tomorrow.

7:40PM - Wedding album woes and other happenings....

I am so frustrated with trying to narrow down the wedding album picture choices. our photographer was fabulous and did such an incredible job documenting our wedding. I have had the poor guys leather samples which give you swatches of the book covers and fonts to stamp your names and wedding date and/or monograms, for longer than the allotted time. Which he hasn't said anything to me about and he knows that I am hemming and hawing over this. We ended up with 1,060 photographs....I really love them all...we have gorgeous candids and hard copy proofs of them too as well as a hi resolution dvd that we can make prints off of. Yahoo photos has been my best friend for christmas picture gifts as well as enlargements. I just can't narrow down to fill 24 pages. There are too many pictures from different parts of the day that are special to us. AHHHH.....I know this is not something I should be so stressed about but if we add the pages it will cost us a fortune but I don't want to not do it and regret it later. On top of that Chris has been working late, like until 10 or 11pm everynight so the last thing he wants to do is look through pictures....he wants me to just deal with it. I am trying but would like his input too, which he has given but I just over analyze. I guess I'll just vent here pick the pictures and shut up about it.

In other news, it looks like the promises made to us work wise upon moving here are coming to fruition. I am very excited b/c there may be a mail creation specialist position created in the office for me to handle, which means I get to sell my own stuff and supervise the systems sales for a few of the product lines and get flow through money off of what the district sells on a yearly basis. This is the position White Plains offered to me to try and keep me from moving with Chris to Atlanta. It can be VERY lucrative if you can help to drive the business do training sessions and help keep the district above 85% of the yearly quota allotted to that product line. Chris is going to get his management position that will be straight management and NO personal sales quota so he is really pumped about that.

We booked our flight to Syracuse for my sister's senior fashion show today. We are going to syracuse for the weekend on april 28th and I think Matt and Lee-ann are going to try and come also. That will be a blast if they can come also. I can't believe Leigh is going to graduate and move to LA to pursue he dream of costume design. She really is talented and she is attempting to start her own acessory business. I am going to help her with it and hopefully we can get it to catch on. She has made stuff for people and has generated interest from others in getting handbags and things that she has made. If she can get it off the ground and copyright and trademark her ideas she can try to generate interest by word of mouth and see if we can launch it on the web. We shall see I am excited to see if we can get this going together.

Well that's all for now I am going to go see if there is anything on tv now so that I can just relax and wait for Chris to come home. It's lonely here all these late nights that he has to work. Oh well it will be over feb 1st and it will be well worth it for both of our careers.
